It's found in Central America and India. It is in high demand in the countries of the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa in order to make perfume. The scientific name for Tuberose is Polianthes Tuberosa. The essential oil can be extracted by Solvent method or Enfleurage. It cannot be extracted by steam distillation since the flowers are so delicate. It takes 3500 pounds of hand picked flowers to make 1 pound of Tuberose Absolute oil.  The main chemical elements of Tuberose Essential Oil are benzyl alcohol, butyric acid, eugenol, farnesol, geraniol, menthyl benzoate, menthyl anthranilate and nerol.  You may see those names listed on a label. If you do not see Polianthes Tuberosa on the label and only one of the above...eugenol, farnesol, etc. This means they synthetically made this component in a lab and are using it rather than the expensive oil from the flower.
